How to apply to the Docker Captains program in 2026. What they ask, what you get, and the official application page.

I run Ambassador Directory. I am a Cursor ambassador and a Raycast ambassador. The rule here is give and take: you share Docker knowledge and help the community, and you get access, recognition, and support for the work. If the deal is a tracking link, it is the wrong program.

What they ask
You must be 18 or older. The program is open internationally. You also need to abide by the Docker Community Code of Conduct.
Official eligibility: technical expertise in Docker and related tech, active community involvement and thought leadership, valuable product feedback, a strong online presence with a significant audience or following, and a history of significant Docker community contributions.
The listing on this site asks for deep Docker expertise, active community contributions, content creation and knowledge sharing, and OSS contributions to the Docker ecosystem.
You also need to fit at least one apply track. The term is one year. Renewals are evaluated at the end of the term if you still meet the criteria and keep contributing.
What you get
The exchange is support for the work, not a commission.
The listing on this site tags Credits, Co-marketing, Access, and Networking. Official copy names a Docker Pro discount, not a free subscription. I will not invent a credit amount.

How the tracks differ
You need at least one of these tracks. Special exceptions exist if you fit more than one, a Docker person or Captain vouches for you, you are in an underrepresented group, you are in a region they care about, or the application is innovative. Official copy says you might still be called for an interview in those cases.
- Docker Advisor: a Docker engineering or product person endorses you. The criteria is a recommendation from a Docker team member.
- Docker Thought Leader: you show influence online. Official bar: at least 5,000 monthly views across blogs, social, or other online channels.
- Docker Community Contributor: you have already helped the community through content, events, or open source. Official bar: 5+ years of community leadership or helping people online.
